Where Does A Lone Man Stay In Bangkok?
You have quite a few different options as to where you stay in Bangkok. You just need to figure out what is best for you.
Finding a place to stay in Bangkok is easy. Finding a place to stay that suits your needs can be a different story.
This is geared primarily to the single man looking to have a bit of fun in Bangkok. And it is for the short term stay.
If all you have is a few hours to a half day in Bangkok, I recommend that you just get a room near the Suvarnabhumi airport. If you don’t know where you are going, getting from the airport to the main part of the city can take anywhere from 1 to 3 hours depending on traffic. If you are just in Bangkok on a short layover, stay near the airport.
If you have a day or two, you have many more options. It all depends on what you want to do.
For the first timer, I would recommend staying near Patpong Road, Soi Nana, or Soi Cowboy. These are three of the main night venues for the single man on the prowl. They all have advantages and disadvantages.
Patpong was the place to go during the Vietnam War and for quite a few years after. Now it is a tourist trap with a capital “T”. But, for the first time visitor, it is still worth seeing. Just don’t buy anything from the street vendors. Getting to Patpong at about 5 PM you can see how much work it is to set up this street market and how fast they get it going.
Soi Nana or Soi 4 is home to the Nana Entertainment Plaza (NEP). This is a three story, horseshoe shaped, neon lit, den of debauchery. Lots of go-go bars and some beer bars on the first floor for your drinking pleasure. Be careful of the transvestite bar on the second floor. A few years back, this was a great place for the local expats, but with the Internet, this is now a tourist destination. Hang out at the Nana Hotel parking lot across the street at closing time for a sight you will not see anywhere else in the world.
Soi Cowboy is still primarily for the expats. This is a small side street between Soi 21 and Soi 23 off of Sukhumvit Road. It is bar after bar after bar. Lots of hawkers and “hello’ girls trying to get you inside. Most of the bars are go-go’s and prices are lower than Patpong or Nana Plaza. Well worth a visit and a short cab ride from Soi 4.
There are other areas to get your hotel but I try to find a hotel near an area I plan to hang out in. I usually get a hotel near Soi 4 and this gives me easy access to NEP and also to Soi Cowboy. There is also a three-story, beer bar complex on Soi 1 where I like to hang out. I try to avoid spending time in taxis on the Bangkok streets.
If you are still undecided, get your hotel room on Sukhumvit between Sois 3 and 24 and you will be close to the action and short cab rides to anywhere else. You can walk to many of the shopping venues or catch the overhead train to get around.

First let me make a short distinguish definition between Astrology and Astronomy. Astrology from the Greek word ‘star” and lógou`, “study of”. Astronomy from the Greek words astron “star” and nomos “law”, Astronomy is studding the movement, structure, and stars creation and formation.
Astrology is an ancient science, older than all the monoteistic religens, the roots of astrology are based in the dawn of civilization history, in the ancient world of Mesopotamia, I’m referring to the Akkadian Empire (2800 B.C), the Sumerian 4th millennium BC, and the Babyloniaian (2300 B.C.). In our days this area is called Iraq.
We can see the roots prosess along nearly 5000 years.Most of the worlds cultures had adopted and assimilated astrology techniques . Once cane learn, from China, India, Persia, ancient Egypt, the Hellenistic world, Arabic world, passing the Judaism along all generations and the Christian culture.
Our ancestors had already used the system of observation, and they had made statistical data processing.
Steven Forest in his book “The changing sky” A bantam book 1986 pp XVII. Is saying, “Astrology is there in the roots of the intellectual tradition that led to modern astronomy, physics and psychology”.

Bernard Rosenblum M.D is a psychiatrist, practicing in N.Y, he is using astrology as an assisting tool in his work, in his book “The Astrologers Guide to Counseling” CRCS Publications 1983 pp 34-44.
Pre-Condition, Rosenblum believes that a counselor should be a person with a mature personality, a person who knows himself well, his weakness and advantages, such a person should be able to cope with pressure situations, and should know handling the client reactions.

Along history course, Astrology had developed several approaches and systems. Each approach and system has it followers and criticizers. I’ll mention only two, the Traditional approach and the Psychological approach. The Psychological approach had been developed alongside to the development of the sciences, finally the Psychological approach had shift the Traditional approach from its seniority, in the beginning of the former century. Lately and occasionally, we can hear, here and there voices saying, “we are tired of the Psychological mambo jumbo, it doesn’t tell us a thing”, well maybe it is time to walk in the middle way, a bit of this and a bit of that, to find the balance, and to integrate both approaches.
First of all let’s focus on the NATAL CHART, the natal chart is a “photography” of the planets constellation at the moment of birth.
The interpretation of that chart submits us with the profile of the chart owner, his potentials, his virtues, his weaknesses and advantages, the natal chart is the “gate” to self-awareness.
Secondly we can focus upon the CAREER & VOCATION chart, many of us are wondering many years “ what is our vocation”, the purpose of that chat is to submit an answer to that question, instead of a life long trial and error process, the purpose of that chat is to avoid wasting precious lifetime.

Ajax-based Login Control Without Any Standard Database
Introduction: In this tutorial, I will present a simple Login control based on AJAX. Any login control requires a database which stores all the user profiles like passwords. Server-sided script uses that database to compare against user given strings and matches, shows errors or redirects to appropriate pages, etc. However, the proposed technique does not require any standard database like access, sql, etc. It just requires a native xml flat/text database which has the minimal complexity to implement in practice.
I was looking for this type of simple login approach and finally came up this idea while going though the asynchronous javascript and xml technique (in short AJAX). In many occasions, setting up an external database is cumbersome and not worthy in terms of minimal usages. The proposed login control however will help you to remove all the burden, compatibility issues and time. To make it clear, conventional and standard database implementation requires a database server, authentication and authorization before creating a database, database-string to be used in your script which is platform specific and to me always clumsy. To get rid of all the cost and efforts, the proposed approach uses a simple flat database and read the database using (AJAX) to make a nice-looking login control.

Big Picture: The following figure shows the AJAX-based login control view. User can give his password in the text box. For simplicity I used all the states name of USA as passwords. If the user-given string matches with any of the passwords, the ‘submit query’ button appears. In other words, the user will be forwarded to his desired page by clicking on that button.
In case, the user’s input string does not match with any of the pre-fix of the passwords, the colour of the text box will be automatically yellow. It says the user not to try towards that direction and delete some of the characters to try again.
Necessary files: We need 4 files for this login control:
i) script.html
ii) script.css
iii) script.js
iv) script.xml
The html and CSS file represents the contents and design mainly to show different components. Note that the ‘submit query’ button is kept hidden from visibility. It will only appear when the user-string matches with any of the passwords stored in the xml file.
The javascript file controls the AJAX connectivity and read the password on the fly. As soon as user presses a letter on the textbox, the corresponding function works to check for any match or mismatch and behave accordingly.
While pressing a single character, the function populates all the passwords in a hidden ‘popoups’ (which actually does not popup!) html component. The function then matches those strings with the user-given string. If, the popups component is empty, it indicates the user-string is not a prefix of any of the passwords and makes the text box yellow.
However, in case of matching between those two strings, the submit button appears. User now can click and go directly to his desired page.

Javascript: Using window.XMLHttpRequest object, the AJAX connectivity starts. The client reads from an XML file, parse required data from it and use that information in the client end.
Then the value is compared against the given string. If it matches with the stored passwords, the ‘submit button’ appears (case B in the figure). However, any mismatch of both strings will keep the submit button hidden from viewing. Also the mismatch is shown by the yellow colour (case C in the figure). Note that case C indicates that the user-given string cannot be prefix of any stored passwords. Therefore user should delete and enter again.

Conclusion: The advantage of this code is that you do not need to use any sort of standard database (access, sql database, etc). You simple put these four files in your server, change or populate the xml script with your passwords (of clients) and run the html. Now call from the server (e.g. using http://localhost/path..). Its working, isn’t it? You see all the complexity regarding standard database connectivity in the server sided script is not required. In many occasions, this simple script will remove your burden to setup and external database and sql coding within your script.
